Emergency Snow Chains

When you are stuck on the side of the road because of snow, you need to have a set of emergency snow chains in your trunk. The problem with emergency tyre chains is that they are very heavy and get rusty and dirty. A better option would be to get Snobootz fabric tire chains. Unlike regular tyre chains, they do not rust because they are cloth tire chains. Sure, there are other tire chain alternatives that can be used in an emergency, like Flex-Trax GoClaws. But, Snobootz are easy to install and are very light weight. Use Snobootz as your emergency tire chains and keep them in the trunk at all times. This is great when you go to the ski slopes.

Please take a few moments to read some of our helpful articles and informative tips on purchasing snow chains, using snow chains and on some of the advantages and disadvantages of tire chains. For example, you might see P175/75R-13. These experts have years of specific experience and can critically evaluate tire chains from various points of views. If you are one of the millions of people that drive in snowy conditions during the year, whether you drive a little or a lot, you probably have spent several hours trying to figure out which type of snow chain is best for your specific use. Traction pads can be used when rock salt will not work. Rock salt can melt through a thin layer of snow or ice in just a few minutes, allowing your tires to contact the pavement. Others may comment on the durability of certain products. Snow chains look like thick metal wires and links that wrap around the surface and sides of your normal tires, encasing them in a metal shell that can dig into and grab onto ice and snow, unlike a regular rubber tire. They have been in business for almost 60 years, selling tire chains online for the last 8 years. Some present a comparative analysis of different types of chains. With more and more 4X4 SUVs on the road, some people think they don't need chains or snow tires anymore, but most state laws require snow tires for 4 wheel drive vehicles, and many also require 4 wheel drive vehicles to at least carry additional traction. During these times, we must be properly prepared. Any tire store will have a good selection of snow tires to choose from. It is also a good idea to keep a bag of rock salt in your trunk. When snow tires are not enough, you need to move on to heavier traction devices, like snow chains.

Testimonials

This is normally where you’d read quotes and stories from satisfied customers of our product. Unfortunately, we don’t have any…yet! Snobootz is a brand-new product, going on sale to the public for the first time in 2008.

We understand that you might be concerned about buying a brand-new product, but rest assured that Snobootz have been thoroughly tested in Colorado, Chile, and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for the past two years. We've also been in the business of making and selling supplemental winter traction devices since 2005 with our GoClaws product (www.goclaws.com), so we know the market well and we know what our customers are looking for.

Snobootz underwent an extensive independent test in February 2008 by Michigan Tech University’s Keweenaw Research Center (KRC). The KRC is a research facility with expertise in vehicle dynamics and mobility, especially in winter conditions. Each winter, KRC builds a comprehensive winter test facility for traction, braking, and stability testing for use by many automobile manufacturers and Tier-1 suppliers. (see their website at http://www.mtukrc.org/wintertesting.htm)

The Snobootz were tested on KRC’s "ice rink", a quarter-mile long level ice surface that is flooded, frozen, and continually swept free of snow to keep the ice smooth. Snobootz were also tested on an iced-down 10% grade to test climbing ability and on a 300 ft diameter circle track to test its resistance to lateral loads.

Snobootz were tested on both a RWD Chevy Tahoe SUV and a FWD Saturn Ion. View the KRC’s independent test reports by clicking on the buttons below.
